Oh My

Yesterday I had an unfortunate accident. I was wearing floppy slippers and carrying a box and, as many a great man before me, I fell down the stairs. I actually just slipped on the last step, and whacked my lower back and below my shoulder blade off the impossible hard stone step.

I spent a few hours really wincing a lot before Leo and I decided a visit to the hospital was best. Better safe than sorry. I felt so stupid because I never fall over, break bones or get into accidents. Even worse, this is my second (ever!) visit to the hospital, having been about 4 months ago when I got a dog bite in work. Indoors. In a restaurant. Life is weird.

All in all we spent about 5 hours at the hospital, for the nurse to tell me in five minutes that I just had muscle damage and really all I could do was take pain killers and rest up. Joy. The thing is, though, I don't like to take medication unless it's absolutely necessary, and because the pain is lessening all the time, I'm just waiting out the wreck.

I have to go to work on Monday and Wednesday, and my studies now involve constant motion of the sawing and lifting wood variety, so I count on getting better very soon. Although I might be going 'just to watch' to the workshop for a few days.

Since I can't go outside, I've been watching a lot of trashy tv, drinking endless cups of tea, and thinking about the Danish homework I should be doing.

I hope it's nice out this weekend, wherever you are in the world.
